Fundraising ideas to help you reach your target

  • Ask for sponsorship for every mile you’re going to run, cycle or walk
  • Shave your head or beard, if you’re feeling brave!
  • Host an event: Halloween party, Christmas movie marathon or games night. Ask for donations for snacks, run a raffle where the winner picks the movie or combine your event with a quiz
  • Sell unwanted items from around the house and channel Marie Kondo with a clear-out
  • Request sponsorship in place of Christmas or birthday presents
  • Ask your employer if they offer matched funding

What your fundraising can do

How much sponsorship should I ask my family and friends for? Here are some suggestions.

A school student in the classroom smiles while wearing his new glasses.

£25

could pay for a classroom of children to have their eyes checked.

A mother holds her child as she speaks with Benjamin, a trachoma surgeon, during an eye screening in Uganda.

£30

could treat and protect more than 150 people from trachoma.

Mary, a ten-year-old girl, stands outside while holding her school exercise book and smiling.
