We want to build sustainable eye care services so that no one loses their sight from avoidable causes. We aim to protect entire communities from debilitating diseases that can cause disability and blindness, and support people with disabilities to take their place in society.

Through our partnerships with governments, local groups and international organisations in western, central and eastern Africa, we’re already helping to improve health services for the future and ensure everyone, particularly women and girls, can claim their human rights. Our work in East Africa

We began our charity programmes in East Africa in the 1950s. Since then, we’ve been working to improve eye care services, protect communities from diseases and ensure people with disabilities are included in society.
